About iNCIBA Wines
Pioneering a wine identity rooted in the Eastern Cape — celebrating royal leadership, cultural unity, and fine South African winemaking.
Honouring the Great Kei River & Eastern Cape Legacy.
The idea of iNCIBA Wines seeks to honour the Great Kei River, a sacred divider between the former Ciskei and Transkei. The name 'iNCIBA', meaning 'border' in English, symbolises identity, power, protection, and pride. It is here, in the heartbeat of the Eastern Cape, that iNCIBA took shape.
Our first edition—The Kings Edition—serves as a tribute to great Xhosa Kings and Chiefs in history, honoring their names, elevating their stories, and ensuring that their legacy and Xhosa greatness is celebrated on an international stage.
The Sacred Border
Bridging Ciskei and Transkei through shared hospitality and cultural unity.
The Kings Edition
Tributes to King Hintsa, Chief Maqoma, King Sarhili, and King Sandile.
"Each bottle carries a heartbeat of the soil, the whispers of rivers, and generational dreams of our beautiful Eastern Cape."
"We don’t have a selling price for our wines, instead we have a selling value."
— Pumlani Nkoyi & Bongile Venfolo

While current vintages blend carefully selected grapes from top South African wine regions with Eastern Cape identity, iNCIBA's ultimate goal is to establish local vineyards in the Eastern Cape by 2030.
This roadmap will create sustainable local agricultural jobs, develop regional viticulture skills, and establish a fully localized provincial winery.
